Helsinki Airport selected as the best airport in Europe

Passengers have selected Helsinki Airport in Finland as the best airport in Europe in terms of customer experience in the 15–25 million passenger size category. The ASQ Award (ASQ, Airport Service Quality) given to airport company Finavia is based on an annual international survey involving 400 airports in 95 countries.

Helsinki Airport underwent an extensive development program aimed at enhancing the passenger experience, resulting in a complete transformation of its facilities.

Key improvements include an increased liquid allowance at security checkpoints, the opening of 26 new shops, restaurants, and cafes, and the modernization of baggage logistics with new equipment and facilities.

The ASQ Award, presented annually by the Airports Council International (ACI), reflects Helsinki Airport’s consistent commitment to delivering exceptional service quality. The ASQ survey, which evaluates 30 service categories throughout the passenger journey, involves interviewing approximately 4,000 air travelers annually at Helsinki Airport.

Finavia has won an ASQ Award five times in the past six years. The award has been given to Helsinki Airport for its merits in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023.
